Special glass for the retrofitting of Canon® EOS DSLR cameras in order to achieve the full spectral sensitivity of the CMOS sensor. The Astronomik MC clear glass is a precision optically polished and multi-coated special glass. The glass is available in different sizes according to the requirements of the various Canon ® EOS DSLR cameras. MC glass is mainly used to compensate the optical path of the removed original filter of the camera. Furthermore, it prevents dust from falling directly on the sensor, which may cause image defects. The MC has no filter effect. It is blocking neither infrared nor ultraviolet light. The transmission is typically higher than 99.7%. The retrofitted DSLR Camera needs for proper imaging with camera lenses, light refracting elements such as flat field lenses or focal reducers, an additional filter in the beam path that blocked.

For everyday photography, we recommend an Astronomik OWB-Clip filter that is snapped directly and without any tools into the camera body. The sensitivity and the white balance of the camera is being restored to its original state. For astrophotography in the visible light we recommend at least an L-filter in the beam path. For IR photography Astronomik offers EOS Pro 742 or 807 IR pass Clip filters.
